Review:
I first read this book as a young adult and I fell in love with it (and Watchers). Laura is a very strong female lead, she reminds me a lot of Sarah Connor in the Terminator series. Her early life is peppered with early sighting of Stefan who she can't decide if he is there to help or harm her. Later is life she learns Stefan's true intentions and the extent that he went to save her.

Stefan is from a different time and a different place. On a mission to gather data her meets Laura and with his resources, he does his best to save her from harm. When he learns to true evil of the people he works for, he decides to make sure that no one can ever follow him and continue with his program.

I haven't met anyone yet who didn't at least like this book, much less love it. I'm sure they exist, just haven't come across anyone yet. Lightning is well written and is a great adventure. The time traveling element is actually believable and reasonably explained. The plot is well thought out with just enough mystery that somethings are left to the imagination and each reader can interpret the concept of time travel differently. Please read this book and then immediately read Watchers.

Intended Audience: My kids read this as early teens and loved it. There is some violence and adult situations but no worse than what they see on prime time TV and the story. So probably 14+
